One of two derelict coal docks located on Garden Key, 70 miles west of Key West. This piece was named for a song by Jimmy Eat World of the same name. The last verse of the song "so here I am, above palm trees, so straight and tall. You are smaller, getting smaller, but I still see you..." remind me of standing there looking out over the dock to the infinite sea. In the song, the chords just repeat for a good 12-13 minutes, giving me the impression of heading out to sea and watching that tiny island fade into the distance.

ooh, wow. those colours are so amazing.
i love the juxtaposition of the rusting metal and pitted, worn stone with the endless expanse of the sea and sky. one crumbling to dust, the other impassive and eternal.

this is a really great shot.
